Tennis players competing at the Tattslotto Fiji Tennis Open will battle for the top prizemoney of $500. Tennis Fiji received a $15,000 boost from Tattslotto Fiji yesterday.

The tournament has attracted 110 participants, six categories with 41 events that will start today at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club.

Tennis Fiji vice-president Yash Patel confirmed that the tournament has attracted the best tennis players from Fiji and across the Pacific Ocean.

“Players that will be on show including Australia and New Zealand for the five-day competition,” Patel said.

Patel said they hoped to host a good tournament at the Pacific Open Junior Championship in Lautoka.

“Tennis Fiji is looking forward to hosting this event until June 4.”

“We hope everyone comes down to the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club to spectate and enjoy themselves.”

The tournament also serves as a build-up to the Pacific Junior Championship in Lautoka. Patel said the event also served as a preparation path for players to the Solomon Islands for the Pacific Games this year.
