Lautoka golfers celebrate in style

The Ratu Sukuna Holiday celebration two men 18 holes stroke Ambrose event, sponsored by Green Mowing & Landscaping of Sydney, registered two winners at the Lautoka Golf Club course on Monday.
Veteran journalist and former Nadi and national football rep, Maika Kasami teamed up with seasoned bowler Mohammed Shariff netted 62 to win their first-ever event.
Natadola’s Rajesh Prasad and Ba golfer Branson Daniel took out the second spot on 62.5 after a countback from Bobby Reddy and Daniel Kumar.
Young guns Alex Qiokata and Roland Singh played steadily for outright fourth place on 64.5
The ever-popular beginners’ category was connivingly won by the lawn bowls trio of Santokh Singh, Rajiv Lal and Abinesh Dass on a solid score of 62.5.
NTP second hole Gaffar Ali, NTP ninth was won by Rohit Naidu and the longest drive by Vinesh Murti.
LGC executive officer Raymond Singh commended Office Supplies & Rentals for pitching in to sponsor 700 new scorecards during the Sukuna Day holiday.
Singh thanked the 34 enthusiastic golfers from the different golf clubs with Rohit Naidu of Sydney making his first appearance at LGC.
The special award sponsored by Rajiv Lal was received by former Lautoka and national football rep Vinod Chand, Subhash Chand, Jyoti Lal, Abdul Jalal, Aisish Kumar and national bowls trialist Amitesh Lal.
The best-dressed office Supplies Rentals award went to Sanjay Kishore and Reginal Ram.
Others award went to Chandar Shekar/ Papi Singh, Vinesh Murti/ Abdul Naushil, Chapke Mudaliar/ Navi Vakaruru.
The greens and fairways were in fine condition reflected on the top scores recorded.
